Hi, I'm Damon, and I'm new to Cañon City and Colorado.
Paige and I moved here in 2022 from Shreveport, Louisiana.
Since 2023 I have been providing IT and technology services to the people of Cañon City as "Just Call Damon". I now have a roster of over 200 clients locally, and am happily taking new clients every day. I absolutely LOVE it here!
For the previous 18 years, I provided IT consulting to the people of Shreveport-Bossier, doing business as "S-B Computer Hero". My clients were varied; from individual insurance adjusters and entrepreneurs working out of their homes, to the offices of investment bankers and petroleum geologists, to their family and friends, as my busines ran almost completely on word-of-mouth. I provided "white-glove" services, going wherever the problem was and doing what was required to get the problem solved. I was featured in the Shreveport Times once for saving several businesses' entire digital livelihoods, including one case where I rescued all of the data from a drive that had been submerged in two feet of flood water for 48 hours! From 2004 to 2022, I was known as "Doc" and I *always made house calls.
Prior to that, in the 90s, I was an IT Engineer and worked my way up from 'IT Support Staff' at Toshiba in San Jose to "IT Manager" for a prestigious home-control systems consultancy in the Bay Area of California catering to the *very affluent, where I designed and installed the networks to allow full control of all home systems - systems that ran everything from AC/heating to whole-house audio and video, to security and surveillance systems. When that ended due to health probems, I returned to my home state of Louisiana and started my private consultancy.
Prior to that? Well, I've been working with computers since I was 12, with the first TRS-80s in 1980. I ran dial-up BBS's (squawwwwk) before there was an Internet, and then 1995 came and the rest was history. So I've effectively been doing this all my life.
My wife Paige and I are thrilled to be starting this new chapter of our lives in Cañon City, and are glad to be meeting so many of you!
