Hi, I'm Tracy, and I'm new to Cañon City too!
I'm an "Appenzeller Spitzhauben", a Swiss breed of chicken from the Appenzell region. "Spitzhauben" means "crazy hair", but I don't know what they mean.
I came from somewhere in Pueblo, where a local farmer had raised me, Doris and Una (my original flockmates) together. We were named basically One Two and Three in loose pseudo-Spanish, Una being our Alpha and Doris being her second. I never cared much for all that pecking and squawking, so I am Tracy. Number Three.
But to the farmer guy, I am Number One, and *everone knows it!
Who else does he pick up and carry high in a position of honor and respect?
And I'm the only one he's used in his pictures!
Surely I am the true Queen of this flock. :)

UPDATE:
I finally got to leave the farm and go on an adventure!!!
We went to the Florence Farmers Market on 6/20/24 and had a blast. :)
Another, sadder update. :-(
Tracy, my beloved hen, my favorite girl, passed away on November 15, 2024.
We really don't know what happened.
I am now a brokenhearted and devastated ChickenMan.
Dear Lord, 'take good care of my baby' until I can hold her again. 😔
